Authentically You

Counselling & Psychotherapy with Sibi Harris-Moore MBACP

Each of these offerings is grounded in my approach of curiosity and the belief that taking the time to lay the groundworks of feeling safe and connected help to create deep and long-lasting changes. I am an integrative practitioner, offering an authentic space and a tailored approach to working collaboratively so you can get the most of your sessions.

Authentically You is about carving out the time to get warm, dedicated support and discovering more about yourself and what can help you to flourish.   Authentically You offers support to those seeking therapy, 18+, of any gender, and parents/carers who may be struggling with how to respond to children in their care.

Psychotherapy & Counselling:

You feeling safe, seen and heard can help to build the relational foundation to a supportive therapeutic experience, and the research supports this. I aim to hold a space where you can unload and create a little more room to figure things out collaboratively. My approach is warm, explorative and authentic. I can support you in discovering the deeper roots of an issue, but also how to bring it into the present moment and develop practical approaches.
My approach integrates Attachment, trauma-informed practice, neuroscience, somatic (nervous system) work, Parts work, creative approaches and CBT.
I work with clients with a variety of backgrounds and identities, ages and genders.  I am currently finding a lot of young women (18-35) are coming to my practice. I am a systemic practitioner, aware of systems of privilege and oppression that impact people on an individual and collective level.

Coaching for Parents & Carers

I have worked, for the last 5 years+, in social, emotional and mental health provisions. This included working with families for anywhere between 6 weeks and 2+ years, every week. I am familiar with the kind of challenges you can face in schools, such as applying for an EHCP or negotiating with school staff.  I also bring my experience as a counsellor with understanding of attachment to support you to build a secure foundation with your child, deal with behavioural challenges, know how to respond during conflict and how to put boundaries in place. I offer one-to-one support to help parents see the light at the end of the tunnel, feel less alone and create pro-active plans for their children. I know from personal and professional experience that it truly does take a village to raise a child.

Here are my offerings in this area:
Incorporating elements of hand in hand parenting
The role of inter-generational trauma
Working with neuroscience and attachment
Inner child work and working with our triggers as parents
Resources I can share to support understanding
Actionable strategies to take home
Help with understanding and managing big feelings and behaviours of anger, sadness and worry in a way that is accessible to children and adults
Play, art, communicative musicality, drama, movement and therapeutic stories

We will work reflectively to look at your relationship with your child as the base of their sense of safety in the world. About Sibi

I have worked for the last 5+ years with individuals, parents and families in private practice and schools around Devon. I have experienced a variety of areas including, facilitating regenerative culture and wellbeing groups, working with children, young people and parents, and working with conflict.

My own experience of therapy led me into wanting to work with others. I have a systemic view of the world and I understand the impact unjust systems have on the Earth and on peoples' emotional and physical wellbeing.

I love to spend time outdoors, in the quiet and in nature. I find movement and the natural world beautiful and regulating. I believe we have the power to improve our own lives and the lives of one another by inhabiting our authentic self.
